The mission of the Jefferson Township Guidance and Counseling Department is to provide ALL students K-12 with a developmental comprehensive counseling program that addresses all students' personal/social, educational/academic and career/vocational needs and that involves collaboration with parents, students, staff, administration, Board of Education members and local businesses. Our goal is to provide a proactive program that will be systematic, sequential and developmental. Through this endeavor, our students will be prepared for the ever-changing demands they will encounter throughout all aspects of their lives.

We believe all students have the potential to develop attitudes, skills and behaviors that enable them to become self-directed with the ability to achieve identified goals. We believe all students need to learn and apply decision-making, effective communications, and problem-solving skills. We believe all students need to be aware of, explore and prepare for appropriate careers. We believe all students need post-high school training/education that will allow them to compete in an increasingly complex economic environment.
