A Message from the High School Principal:

Dear JTHS Parents and Students:

With the spring sports season upon us, we are anticipating a lively and spirited pep rally to recognize our spring athletes.  I am planning the pep rally for Thursday, April 2nd during 8th period.  The office has noticed a sharp increase in early dismissal requests on pep rally days.  Unless you have a scheduled appointment, please encourage your child to join his/her class at the pep rally.  Having a large number of students leaving the building as the rest of the school is moving to the pep rally creates a difficult situation for staff charged with monitoring attendance and creates an opportunity for some students to make a poor decision regarding their attendance at the pep rally.

After an enjoyable spring break (school is closed April 3 - 10), we will re-group for the last round of PARCC, the End of Year Assessment.  The schedule will be as follows:
PARCC Testing will take place on April 20 - 22 and 24 (two days for ELA, two days for Math).  Testing will begin at 7:35 a.m. each morning and continue until approximately 9:30, at which time we will follow the delayed opening bell schedule.  All classes will meet.   Seniors and juniors taking a math class beyond Algebra II who are not taking the math assessment may arrive at 9:15 a.m.  These students will sign in by the auditorium and wait there until the conclusion of testing each day.

Congratulations to  Samantha Giamanco, Skylar Lewis, Kendra Nolan, Shaylyn Spratt, and Courtney Weber for the selection of their artwork to be included in the Blackwell Street Juried Student Show taking place through April 24th at the Atrium Gallery, on Floors 2 - 5 of the Morris County Administration and Records Building.  Their works will be included among 350 works which were selected from nearly 800 submissions.  Additionally, Skylar's work earned 3rd place in the drawing category.
