Our philosophy focuses on our students, and it embraces all that we do. We believe all students must be held to the highest standards for academic, social, and ethical behavior. We want our students to be motivated to learn, as well as to be self-assured, and confident individuals who graduate from the district ready to apply their skills and knowledge as productive citizens in an ever-changing world. Our administrators and teachers are facilitators of learning who work cooperatively with their students while providing necessary support to them. Our diverse pre-K – 12 curriculum includes a variety of opportunities which promote student learning.
In order to continue to create an even stronger educational experience for students, the district began implementing a long-range strategic planning process entitled Jefferson Township 2015 (JT2015) during the 2007 school year. Working with community stakeholders, students, and staff, a task force conducted group sessions in order to identify the skills, attributes, and strategies that stakeholders believed will lead the Jefferson Township schools to a system of excellence. Next, an advisory committee composed of student, parents, teachers, administrators, and other community members articulated five goals by consolidating stakeholder input. In July, 2007 the Board of Education adopted the goals for 2015 (click here to view) which will enable the administrators, board, and staff to focus energies and resources in order to provide programs and experiences that will make the students of Jefferson Township good citizens, good workers, and lifelong learners. A master plan which is the vision for achieving the JT2015 goals is being developed during the 2007-08 school year. Five goal committees—one for each of the goals—have been created to craft plans. When completed, the strategic master plan will outline the tasks, resources, and timeframes for addressing key student-centered issues in the district. It will chart a course for the future.
