Dear Parents and Guardians,
JTMS is committed to offering a balanced program of core and exploratory studies for all its students. Our mission is to provide a child-centered middle school that nurtures and challenges the ability and skills of our students, while addressing the needs of our community.
JTMS services all students in grades 6-7-8 with academic core teams at each grade level offering instruction in math, language arts literacy, science, and social studies. Our exploratory and elective programs include courses in: Family and Consumer Science, Art, General Music, STEM, Contemporary Issues, Computer Applications, Guitar, Band and Chorus
The JTMS support staff includes a school counselor for each grade level, a substance awareness coordinator, a child study team, a speech therapist, English as a Second Language, special education teachers, and instructional aides for assistance in special education settings. Specialized resource centers are provided in the areas of multiple disabilities, behavior disabilities, and language-learning disabilities.
Our students participate in a variety of after school clubs and activities that include the school musical, talent show, yearbook, ensemble night, literary magazine, jazz & select bands, select choir, student council, American Red Cross, environmental club, art club, MathCounts, peer leaders and anti-bullying clubs.
The JTMS Parent-Teacher Association is an active organization dedicated to serve and support our students and staff with programs such as mini-grants, guest speakers, recognition programs, the annual book fair, and activity nights. This type of volunteerism is built upon a shared-vision to improve the well being and quality of life in our school and community. Without a doubt, our PTA is recognized as a strong partner in our school and community.
Mrs. Jeanne Howe
