Jacoby who is an ASL teacher at Mt. Arlington School volunteered to give each of the first grade classes an introduction to American Sign Language. Students practiced their signs and enthusiastically played Simon Says using ASL only. It was great to see parents and teachers working together to enhance the curriculum. Thank you Mrs. Jacoby!
Weaver's second graders adopted a class pet, with the help of a “Pets in the Classroom” grant sponsored by PetSmart. The students selected a furry hamster and named her Cookie Dough. The children will take turns bringing her home on the weekends and practice responsibility, by caring for their new friend!
In recognition of Respect Week, our guidance counselor Mrs. West, coordinated various spirit days, guest speakers (Steve Max: Better Listening & Respect Assembly), contests, and other activities for the students to show their personal commitment to demonstrating good citizenship.
