10/23 Update: Travel Guide & Information

Dear Parents and Guardians:

As families begin to plan for our upcoming long weekends and holidays, I would like to remind you about New Jersey’s travel restrictions. For everyone’s health and safety, we ask that if you travel out of state or internationally, please adhere to New Jersey’s travel advisory guidelines which may require a 14-day quarantine depending on your destination. Additional information regarding the travel advisory may be found on the New Jersey COVID-19 Information Hub’s FAQ page. At the end of the letter are three additional links to information on quarantine you may find useful.  Please be advised that producing a negative test result does not eliminate the need to quarantine since an individual could become positive at any time during the 14 days. Should you travel to a state listed on the advisory list or to an international destination, please let your child(ren)’s school(s) know of your return date so we may keep track of attendance during the quarantine.

Should you have any questions regarding the quarantine requirements, please contact the Jefferson Township Health Department. If you have any questions regarding your child’s absence and schoolwork, please contact your child’s guidance counselor.

Thank you for your cooperation in this matter. As I have said numerous times, the ability of our schools to remain open is dependent upon the health of the community. Please, let’s all do our part to help keep our students and staff stay safe and healthy during this upcoming holiday season.

Be well,

Jeanne Howe
