The Transition Education Program at Jefferson Township High School supports students as they prepare for life after high school, with a strong focus on employment and college readiness. Beginning in sophomore and junior year, students participate in career awareness and exploration through hands-on classroom activities and visits to local community sites. These experiences help students build essential social, workplace, and independent living skills.

In their senior year, students have the opportunity to participate in Work-Based Learning, where they apply their skills in real-world settings by obtaining and maintaining a job within the community during school hours. Students are supported and supervised by the Transition Coordinator and worksite mentors to ensure a successful experience for both the student and employer. Through strong community partnerships, the program empowers students to discover their strengths, explore career options, and transition confidently into adulthood.
