    Welcome to Cozy Lake Elementary School! We're glad you're here. Cozy Lake Elementary School is comprised of 2 grade levels. We have a preschool program, and a kindergarten.  Cozy Lake Elementary School provides all the services necessary to see your child grow and develop during their most formative years.  Throughout the school year, parents will be invited to attend various events at the school. We look forward to seeing you there.

    KINDERGARTEN REGISTRATION

    2023 – 2024 SCHOOL YEAR

    Your child need not be present during registration.  Only those children who will be five years of age before October 1, 2023 will be eligible to enter kindergarten in September 2023 (see District Policy 5112, Entrance Age).

    Initially, please visit the district website and complete the preregistration form online. https://www.fridayparentportal.com/jefferson/preregistration/

    REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS ARE:

    When coming to school for your registration appointment, please bring ALL of the following documentation: 

    1. Proof of Residency
      • Homeowners: Mortgage statement or current Jefferson Township tax invoice
      • Renters: rental agreement/lease AND current utility bill
    2. Parent picture Identification (i.e. Driver’s license)
    3. Original Birth Certificate (with raised seal). Child must be 5 years of age prior to October 1, 2023.
    4. Physical Exam within last year (within 365 days of start of school)
    5. Immunization Record-Official documentation signed and stamped by doctor:
      • P.T. Series (4 doses-one after 4th birthday OR 5 doses) NJAC 8.57-4.10)
      • Polio Series (3 doses-one after 4th birthday OR 4 doses) (NJAC 8.57-4.11)
      • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (2 doses or 1 dose and lab evidence of titer showing immunity) (NJAC 8.57-4.12)
      • Hepatitis B Series (3 doses) (NJAC 8.13-4.16)
      • Varicella (one dose) (NJAC 8.57-4.17)

    State Law prohibits the acceptance of any child who does not meet these requirements prior to the first day of entering school in September. 

    Only one registrant will be permitted in the building at a time. As such, please arrive on time for your appointment. You will be asked to sign up for a specific time at the end of the online pre-registration form.

    Preschool Program

    Dear Parents or Guardians,

     

    Welcome to the preschool program.  You and your child are invited to attend our orientation program on Friday, September 1, 2023 from 1:00pm - 2:00pm at Cozy Lake School.  During this time, you will meet your child’s teacher, teacher’s assistant(s) and become familiar with your child’s classroom.  The kindergarteners will have an open house, however preschool will have an orientation beginning at 1:00pm.  We hope you can make it at 1:00pm. 

    We would also like to discuss various aspects of our program.  Your child will have an opportunity to explore the classroom, meet new classmates and renew friendships while  parents will be able to go over and fill out important paperwork and meet other parents.  Preschool Disabled Classes will be invited to go on a van/bus ride around the block (integrated classes had an opportunity to ride the bus at the end of last year).

    Our regular school session will begin on Wednesday  September 6th.

    Attached is a copy of what your child will need for next year. 

    We are looking forward to seeing you and your child on Friday, September 1, 2023 at 1:00pm.

    Preschool Needs for School

     

    Dear Parents/Guardians,

     

    Your child will need the following items to keep at school.  Please label all items:

     

    1. A backpack large enough to hold art projects, notices, etc.

    (The mini backpacks are too small.)

    1. An old adult t-shirt (to be used as a smock.)
    2. A complete change of clothing including socks (Please put your

    child’s name on everything including the bag you put them in.)

    1. 2 Snacks- Please provide two daily snacks which do not need to be heated up (peanut/nut free) for your child including drinks.  You may want to send in an extra water bottle everyday, too
    2. Lunch-please pack a lunch (which does not need to be heated up) with a drink every day or buy a lunch using your school account
    3. Diapers (preferably a full bag), pull-ups (with Velcro sides), wipes, underwear, etc.
    4. Wear sneakers for gross motor activities (We will be going outside when the weather permits.)
    5. Crayola Washable Markers
    6. Crayola Crayons 24 pack
    7. One 2 Pocket Folder
    8. One 4 pack of Play-Doh
    9. 1 box of 2 ½ gallon ziploc bags (Can be store brand)
    10. Package of low odor fine tip dry erase markers
    11. Preschool Cot Sheet or Crib Sheet (Crib Sheets may rip in the corners)  and a blanket for Rest Time
