    Dear Parents & Guardians:

October brings to mind falling leave, football and pep rallies.  We begin the month with our own Briggs School Pep Rally to kick off the Week of Respect.  Guidance Counselor Elizabeth West will lead our students in a variety of activities designed to teach children how to show respect to one another.  The entire school body will participate as we inspire working together as a team.  To demonstrate our commitment, the front hall bulletin board features every class’ ideas about how to show respect.

    October Bulletin Board

October features Fire Prevention Week and Bus Safety.  Jefferson Township Fire Company No. 2 will be visiting to teach our students what to do in an emergency.  Children will also participate in the district’s annual Bus Safety program, and the Jefferson Township Police Department will conduct their annual Halloween Safety Program.  Our student’s well-being is of the utmost importance and we welcome any opportunity to help our young ones learn how to be safe.

The PTA will conduct a variety of activities to celebrate Red Ribbon Week – designed to teach students in an age-appropriate manner about the dangers of drugs, alcohol and smoking.  The Slim Goodbody program is scheduled during the week to will provide a visual and hands-on way for students to learn healthy habits.

Lastly, the annual Briggs School Halloween Parade will be held at 12:45 PM on Thursday, October 31st.  We look forward to seeing you then!
