    Mission

The mission of the science department at Jefferson Township Public Schools is to provide all students with a sound science education that will allow them to understand the natural world through the lenses of biology, chemistry, physics and earth science. Through research, experimentation, modeling, constructing explanations and arguing from evidence our students will acquire the skills and mindsets needed to successfully navigate  a highly competitive (and ever-changing) society. They will be able to analyze and communicate their thoughts about complex issues, both collaboratively and independently, by separating fact from opinion and weighing the merits of various pieces of evidence. By using engaging and relevant lessons, we aim to foster a love for scientific inquiry, reasoning and knowledge that will ultimately allow our students to become lifelong learners, productive citizens and effective problem solvers.

    Vision
To continue meeting our mission and to deliver educational experiences that are not limited to a physical classroom, that utilize appropriate technology in an engaging and challenging learning environment that affords students numerous partnerships with institutions of higher education and employers.
