Welcome to the Technology Education Department at Jefferson Township Public Schools. Industrial arts education dates back to the late 19th century in the United States. Today, more than 7 million students are involved in related arts and technology education classes across the country. The field focuses on industry and technology. Related arts and technology programs provide students with opportunities to explore, study, and work with machines, materials, and industrial tools in a safe learning and working environment. These courses also offer opportunities for students to develop habits, attitudes, and a work ethic that result in a commitment to excellence and pride in quality work. The courses teach many skills critical to college and career readiness including design, small scale project management, measurement, safety, material management, and problem-solving.
